Jacky Blot of Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups has been trying to drag Montlouis out of the shadow of neighbouring Vouvray since 1988. He works with Chenin and Chenin alone. Yields are low, spraying is rare, and picking is done by hand. Barrels are favoured both new and old in the cool rock-hewn cellar. A hidden gem of the Loire.
